     Author of My Shropshire Days on Common Ways. Met Dora while staying at Boarding House run by Eliza Jane Perrigo (m 39). Dora was a maid there and Owner told her not to talk to John as he didn't talk in the mornings. She did, and the rest is history....John had polio as a child and one leg was smaller than the other. He played the banjo and painted. Said to be a very interesting man. Had a block of flats named after him in Telford. Tombstone in Shawley church yard with the names of all the family written on it. (telford).
